Your Welcome Page is the first thing a respondent sees. Your Thank You Page is the last. Together, they frame the entire form experience and have an outsized impact on whether someone starts, finishes, and feels good about completing your survey.

Most form builders give you a title field and a submit button. Sayify gives you full control over both the Welcome and Thank You pages, including headlines, subtext, button labels, and the ability to customize messaging based on your use case.

This guide covers what works, what does not, and how to get both pages right.

The Welcome Page

What It Does

The Welcome Page appears before your first question. It sets expectations, builds trust, and gives the respondent a reason to start.

What You Can Customize

  • Headline: The main message (keep it under 10 words)
  • Subtext: A supporting sentence or two with context
  • Button Label: The call-to-action text ("Start," "Begin," "Let's Go")
  • Layout Template: The visual style of the entire form

Good Welcome Page Examples

Use Case Headline Subtext Button
Customer support feedback How did we do? Takes less than 60 seconds. You can type or record your answer. Start Feedback
NPS survey Quick question for you Just one question, takes 15 seconds. Your answer helps us improve. Start
Video testimonial Share your story with us It takes about 2 minutes. Just hit record and tell us what you think. Let's Go
Lead qualification Let's find the right solution for you Answer a few quick questions and we will match you with the right plan. Get Started
Exit interview Your feedback matters This takes about 5 minutes. Your responses are confidential. Begin
Event registration Reserve your spot Fill in your details to confirm your registration. Register

Welcome Page Best Practices

Do:

  • Include a time estimate. "Takes 2 minutes" dramatically reduces drop-off.
  • Mention voice if applicable. "You can record or type your answers" sets expectations.
  • Keep the subtext to 1-2 sentences maximum.
  • Use active, simple language.

Do not:

  • Write a paragraph of instructions. Nobody reads them.
  • Use corporate jargon ("We value your input as a stakeholder").
  • Overpromise ("Your feedback will change everything!").
  • Use generic headlines ("Survey" or "Form").

The Thank You Page

What It Does

The Thank You Page appears after the final question is submitted. It confirms the submission, provides closure, and optionally directs the respondent to a next action.

What You Can Customize

  • Headline: Confirmation message
  • Subtext: Additional context or a next step
  • Redirect URL (optional): Automatically redirect to another page after a few seconds

Good Thank You Page Examples

Use Case Headline Subtext
Customer support Thanks for sharing! Your feedback goes straight to our team. We listen to every response.
NPS from a Detractor We hear you Thanks for being honest. A member of our team will follow up shortly.
NPS from a Promoter Thank you! We are glad you are having a great experience. Would you leave us a review on G2?
Testimonial You are awesome! Thank you for recording. We will review your response and may feature it on our website.
Lead qualification We will be in touch Your info has been received. Expect to hear from us within 24 hours.
Exit interview Thank you, and best of luck Your feedback helps us improve for everyone. We wish you all the best.

Thank You Page Best Practices

Do:

  • Acknowledge what they did. "Thanks for sharing" is better than just "Thank you."
  • Set expectations for what happens next ("We will review your response" or "Expect a reply within 24 hours").
  • Include a secondary CTA when appropriate (review link, referral link, social follow).

Do not:

  • Leave the default "Thank you for your submission" without customizing it.
  • Include surveys within the Thank You page. The respondent is done. Let them be done.
  • Auto-redirect too quickly. Give people at least 3-5 seconds to read the message.

Using Different Thank You Messages for Different Respondents

With conditional logic, you can route respondents to different Thank You pages based on their answers:

NPS-Based Routing

  • Score 0-6 (Detractors): Show a Thank You page that says "We hear you. A team member will follow up." This shows empathy and creates a recovery opportunity.
  • Score 7-8 (Passives): Show the standard "Thanks for your feedback" message.
  • Score 9-10 (Promoters): Show a Thank You page with a link to leave a review on G2, Capterra, or Google.

Satisfaction-Based Routing

  • Star Rating 1-2: Apologetic tone + promise of follow-up
  • Star Rating 4-5: Grateful tone + ask for a testimonial or referral

This approach turns your Thank You page into an engagement tool instead of a dead end.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I skip the Welcome Page?

Yes. You can configure your form to go straight to the first question. However, we recommend keeping a Welcome Page for most use cases because it sets context and reduces "what is this?" confusion.

Can I customize the Thank You page for each respondent?

Yes. Use conditional logic to route different respondents to different Thank You page configurations based on their answers (for example, different messages for high and low NPS scores).

Can I redirect after the Thank You page?

Yes. Set a redirect URL in the Thank You page settings. The respondent sees the Thank You message for a few seconds and then gets redirected to the URL you specify (for example, your website homepage or a booking page).

Does the Welcome Page affect SEO?

Not directly. But your Welcome Page headline and subtext are visible to respondents who arrive via shared links, and they appear in link previews on social media. Good copy helps click-through rates.
